Using the Guest Access Feature

The PhotoShare Frame offers a Guest Access feature that allows friends and family to share their photos directly with your frame, both via email and the PhotoShare Frame mobile app. This guide will walk you through the process of setting up and managing Guest Access.

Guest Access via Email

Initial Setup:

  1. When a guest sends photos to the frame's email address for the first time, the frame will alert the owner with a chime sound.
  2. A prompt will appear on the frame asking the owner to accept the photos from the guest.

Approval Process:

  • If the owner accepts, the guest user is then whitelisted and can send photos to the frame without needing further approval.
  • If the owner does not accept, the guest cannot send photos. However, the guest can resend the photos, and the owner will be prompted again to accept them.

Note: This approval process is a one-time action per guest. Once a guest is approved, they can continue to send photos in the future without requiring additional approvals.

Guest Access via Mobile App

Adding a Frame:

  1. Open the PhotoShare Frame mobile application on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Select “Add Frame.”
  4. Choose “Add Friend/Family Frame.”

Frame Owner's Approval:

  • The frame owner will then receive a notification in the app or directly on the frame.
  • They must accept the invitation to allow the guest to share photos.

Note: If the notification is missed or not acted upon, the guest can send the invite again, ensuring the owner is nearby the frame to accept it.

Accepting Friend/Guest Requests

Notification:

  1. A notification will appear on the frame for any friend request.
  2. The owner can directly accept the request on the frame to grant access.

Missed Invites:

  • If an invite was missed, simply have the guest resend the request.
  • Ensure that the frame owner is present to accept the invite as it appears.



Inviting Someone to Share Photos

Sending Invitations:

  1. The frame owner should open the PhotoShare Frame app.
  2. Tap the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
  3. Choose “Invite Friends.”
  4. Enter the email address of the person you wish to invite.
  5. Select the frame you want to grant access to for that user.

Receiving Invitations:

  • Invited users will receive an invitation via email.
  • Once they accept the invitation, they can start sharing their moments directly to your frame.


Troubleshooting

If a guest is experiencing trouble sending photos, ensure the following:

  • The guest is on the approved sender list. Check this on the frame under Settings > Manage Users.
  • The frame is connected to a stable WiFi network. Connectivity issues can prevent photos from being received.
