App Launch "v2" - New Generation for the Future
🌟 Exciting announcement! As of 2022, we've unveiled the new PhotoShare Frame ("v2") app, brimming with innovative features that you're sure to enjoy. If you're using the previous version, we recommend making the switch. The legacy app is officially retired and will no longer be updated, nor support the setup of newer generation frames. Transition to the new app for a seamless and quick experience.
Some signs you may be on the legacy/"v1" App are you cannot register or add newer generation frames (Invalid Frame ID error), OR (as of July 2026) you are receiving a persistent error whenever attempting to send Photos from the App. Moving to the new App will resolve those issues.
Ready to upgrade? Simply click on the links below to download the new PhotoShare Frame "v2" app:
Re-register to Transfer Your v1 Account
To ensure a smooth transition and continued access to your Frames, you must re-register in the v2 app using the exact same email address you used for your v1 account. Using a different email will result in issues such as missing Frames you had previously registered, etc.
Don't worry it's easy - when you enter your email into the v2 App, it will recognize you as a previous user and walk you through the one-step process - you will simply need to set a new password, and then everything else will seamlessly work the same as your prior app experience.
Follow these steps to migrate:
- Open the v2 App ("PSF")
- Enter the same email address you used with the v1 App, it should identify you as a previous user and prompt you to set a new password etc.
- After re-registering, your existing Frames will populate in the app and be the same as before.
Should you encounter any further issues post-migration, such as difficulty sending photos to your frame, our Support Team would be happy to help.
We say "Migrate" and "Transfer" but this does not actually do anything to your v1 App Account. We do not recommend using v1 App after making the switch for multiple reasons and you should remove the legacy App, but know you can always go back if you'd like (though we're not sure why you would want to!).
Just be aware that if you choose to remain on the v1/Legacy App, it is no longer receiving updates, and is not expected to continue with full functionality for more than a few years.
Technical Note on Versioning: If you are aware of what exact versions you are running (technical), the "v1/Legacy" app is reported as 3.x and the "v2/Permanent" app is 4.x+ - we simply stated v2 as the second & final iteration of the App/Frame Generations, which will never change again.
