Auto Dim Feature

Auto Dim Feature

The Auto Dim feature is a convenient addition to your digital frame, designed to ensure the display brightness is always comfortable for your eyes. A small light sensor located on the bottom right of your frame plays a crucial role in this. It reads the ambient light levels in the room and adjusts the screen's brightness accordingly. When the room becomes dark, the frame will smartly switch to clock mode, preventing the screen from being disruptively bright during your relaxation or movie time.

Adjusting Auto Dim Settings

To personalize your Auto Dim settings, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Navigate to the Frame’s Home Screen.
  2. Tap on “Settings.”
  3. Select “Frame Settings.”
  4. Choose “Display,” where you can toggle the Auto Dim feature on or off, as well as adjust the screen brightness to your preference.

Ensuring Light Sensor Visibility

The effectiveness of the Auto Dim feature relies on the light sensor being unobstructed. Here's how to ensure that:

  • Check the Frame Matte: If you've recently changed the matte around your frame, verify that the small hole in the corner of the matte is aligned with the light sensor at the lower right-hand corner of the frame. Misalignment can block the sensor, affecting the Auto Dim functionality.
  • Manual Adjustment: Should you suspect that the light sensor coverage is not the issue, you can manually adjust the settings. From the main screen (not the photo screen), go to Settings > Frame Settings > Display. Here, you can toggle the Auto Dim feature off. This action is useful if you find the screen dims too aggressively or transitions to clock mode prematurely.

Remember, the light sensor is a small but mighty component that helps maintain the ideal brightness for your viewing experience. Keep it clear and aligned for optimal performance of the Auto Dim feature. If you continue to encounter issues after checking the sensor, please contact our support team for further assistance.
